Restructure & Redundancy

Restructuring and Redundancy is emotional business, like it or not, and it's personal to those affected. Whilst the business' intention is for change to have a positive impact on the bottom line, this needs careful consideration, planning and communication from the outset.   A key role we provide is support for the person(s) managing the change project. 

Restructure - you may be restructuring the business due to economic circumstances or simply to maximise efficiencies and reduce costs. Whatever the driver, it is critical that you plan, plan and plan before taking any action. Typical steps in any restructure include: job evaluation, skills analysis, variation to terms and conditions, training.

Redundancy - ensure you understand the key principles, the legislation and your obligations before instigating this process.  Starting with an informal process and open communication will ease the stress, anxiety and uncertainty that those affected will inevitably experience.  Always remember those not directly affected as they may be impacted in other ways. The overall negative effects can be reduced by sensitive handling before, during and after.
